The students have developed individual work dealing with the translation between found photographs, a sculptural object and an architectural model. As a point of departure, the students formulated their thematic by juxtaposing 24 photographs from existing archives, historical and contemporary. The thematic of this two-dimensional archive was then translated into a three-dimensional sculptural object, in an intuitive and associative process where abstraction was encouraged, rather than representation. The object was finally translated into an architectural model made with the explicit intention to be photographed. 09:11:31 +0000 Mattias F Josefsson https://mattiasfjosefsson.cargo.site/ANNO-Museum Hamar and Domkirkeodden are located in the northernmost part of the Oslo Rift, a characteristic geological phenomenon. It consists of an ancient, sunken part of the Earth's crust and has rock types that differ from the surrounding areas. The topography of Domkirkeodden itself forms a distinct terrain feature and consists of a limestone ridge running east/west, with sloping terrain down towards the shores of Mjøsa. Our project utilizes the distinctive rocks from the Oslo Rift to create defined zones and spaces that interact with nature. The landscape at Domkirkeodden is protected and plays an important role in the story of the medieval town at Hamarkaupangen. The treatment of the topography and landscape should both preserve historical qualities and build upon the history, but the project also has the opportunity to point towards the future. The project establishes a series of spaces that visitors can move through, from the entrance up to the new museum, and further out into the open-air museum's other buildings and places. In medieval towns, many of the townspeople maintained urban vegetable gardens where they likely cultivated onions, cabbage, angelica, hops, and apples. Our project aims to establish a vegetation concept that includes some of these historical plants. In connection with both spaces and paths, smaller rooms and beds with plants and herbs used in the Middle Ages will be established. These areas will be a modern interpretation of medieval onion and hop gardens Anno Museum ---------Landscape Architect Architects Estudio Gustavo Utrabo and +Groma (Andrea Pinochet) Co-Author Silje Kolltveit and Kavek Kawousi Competition entry 2021 Domkirkeodden is characterized by a grassy landscape with clusters of large trees around some of the building environments and in the transition zone down towards Mjøsa. The treatment of the landscape around the new museum builds upon these surroundings but introduces a more distinct cultivation of the grass areas in the zones around the museum's new plaza. It is proposed that the area be divided into fields with different types of flowerbeds in Norwegian “slåtteng”, where the grass is mowed at different intervals and times during the season to bring out a variation in flowers, height, and structure. Typical of hay meadows is that they have a high species diversity of flowering plants evenly distributed in the meadow. The garden is situated underneath the building, focusing on the 2-meter change in high tide and low tide. The kelp and vegetation that live in this area between the water and the land are particular to this place, which experiences such a significant difference in the tides. However, as the country becomes more individualistic, citizens are losing Dugnad’s value. Dugnad is also reflected across cultures globally in various placemaking strategies, including architecture dedicated to a more equitable society. Dugnad Days, a participatory design project selected for the Oslo Architecture Triennale 2019, creates a story of commitment, shared learning, and collective responsibility. Dugnad Days explores collective, bespoke processes of building resilience and the social sustainability of communities through participatory placemaking. By recalibrating the Dugnad tradition of collective work and mutual support with the local community of Sletteløkka in Oslo, the project aimed to collectively plan, design, and renovate a vacant building into a community center for the area. “Enough: the Architecture of Degrowth” – the Oslo Architecture Triennale 2019 is a call to arms to build alternatives to the unsustainable and unfair paradigm of growth because human and ecological flourishing matter the most. Situated on a busy road close to Danmarksplass, an area with few parks and recreational areas, the proposal introduces vegetation to the sites surrounding the charging station. While charging your car, the recreational area could be used for waiting. The idea was to use the material from the Japanese pavilion to produce a Yatai for use in the community house in Sletteløkka. A Yatai is a type of mobile food stand. In our case, the wagon had two purposes: one as a place to make coffee and another function as a stair. These images are modified images printed on inkjet with a number of different solvents. The modification is to highlight even further Slingsby´s marks on what is significant in the landscape. He was for the most part talking about the mountain and how the mountains are highlighting or pointing at the sky. Mostly he is describing the immediately close surroundings and the texture of the soil. At some point he is describing the mezzo or the in-between, not the distant or the close, in stories of waterfalls.
